Jami Shapiro began her dance training on Long Island, NY under the great influence of Danielle Guinta, Alison Seidenstricker and her mother Lori Shapiro, as well as many other great inspirers. After completing an internship at Broadway Dance Center, she became an avid student of Tracie Stanfield, Michelle Barber and Sheila Barker. Graduating from Long Island High School for the Arts with a major in Dance in 2007, she continued her training at Point Park University in Pittsburgh, P.A. as a double major in Dance with a Jazz concentration and Sports, Arts & Entertainment Management. Jami has performed at Madison Square Garden with FLO Dance Company and has performed in two NYC Seasons with ASEID Contemporary Dance Company at the DiCapo Opera Theater as an Apprentice. She has also spent a third season with ASEID as their stage manager. While interning at the Parsons Dance Foundation in the summer of 2008, she was also on staff at Legworks Dance Studio and Dorothy’s School of Dance, teaching ballet, jazz, jumps & turns and tap, and hopes to continue there in the summers to come!
